The system is modular and can be configured in many ways and for many purposes eg:

1) The solarpanel power-supply can be setup with any number of solar-panels, various battery sizes, various types of charge controllers. Can also be replaced or combined with a small wind-turbine 150W - 600W.
Depending on which computer is used there can be a need for a DC-DC power supply. But the one currently used there is no need for this.
2) The computer is very efficient, with low power consumption. It can of-course also be powered using a 230v/12v power supply.
3) The computer has an Intel CPU so it can run any Linux distribution or Windows software.
4) The software used can be build and combined in any number of ways. In the current configuration everything is opensource - meaning free - both in terms of copyrights and in terms of price.

The system can be stationary or mobile.

Currently the system is running a long term test at prototype level.
